Lock PDF

Lock PDF with a password

Lock document given file with user password password and owner password password

pdf.file
pdf.file
pdf.mimeType

With this building block you can lock a PDF document with an owner and an user password. With the owner password the document can be unlocked to make changes to the document.

The user password is required for viewing the document and adding comments. After locking a document you can’t modify it with other blocks, except unlocking. If you need to both lock and sign a document, choose the sign block, which also features locking.

Use cases

  • Send out locked contracts or invoices that can only be viewed after entering the correct password
  • Securing sensitive information in the PDF document
  • Preventing modification of the PDF document

Configuration

Clicking on the bold parts in the title of the building block lets you specify the password and lets you pick the desired file from your Google Drive to be locked.

You can deselect the picked file by clicking on the x button on the right of the selected filename.

If no file has been picked, Ultradox will load the given file that is stored in the input variable.
