Custom Domain

Generate, publish and host websites on your own domain

With Ultradox you can not only generate PDF, Word or LibreOffice documents, you can also generate nice websites.

Websites can be generated from Google Docs or from HTML templates.

Published websites will be served from a URL that looks like this by default:

http://web.ultradox.com/<yourUltradoxFileId>/<yourpages.html>

Make it yours

If you want to serve the published website from your own domain (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) or from a subdomain (e.g. help.yourdomain.com) this guide is for you!

Prerequisites

Hosting websites on your own domain only works if

  • we can verify your domain ownership
  • your Ultradox license supports custom domains
  • you can edit your DNS-zone file to add A records and TXT records.

Configuration

To publish and host websites on your own domain (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) you will have to perform the following steps:

  1. Make sure that the custom domain you want to use to host your website is properly registered with your Ultradox license.
  2. Get in touch with us so that we can send you the IP address and the txt record for your zone file
  3. Add the IP address as an A record to your DNS-zone if you want to redirect all traffic from your domain to the published site:

HOST

TYPE

DATA

@

A record

<IP Address>

  1. Add the following A record to your DNS-zone file of your domain if you want to redirect only a subdomain (in this example we call it mysite) to the published site:

HOST

TYPE

DATA

mysite

A record

<IP Address>

Get in touch

Once you have performed these steps successfully get in touch with us so that we can configure our load balancers to forward the traffic from your domain to the published site.
