With this building block you can trigger a Zap at Zapier.

After you added this block and set up the variables, you can start creating a Zap.

When creating the Zap you’ll have to enter the API Key of this flow and choose this block from a dropdown. Then the building block will show up as connected and you can run your flow and trigger the Zap.

Use cases

  • Trigger a service that is not (yet) available as building block in Ultradox like Mailchimp, Trello or Salesforce
  • Create an Ultradox app to collect data, perform aggregations and calculations and start a Zap with this data

Configuration

Click on the bold text in the title of the building block to open the Trigger Zap Settings dialog. You can set a name for this block and enter the variables, which should be sent to the Zap. When creating a Zap, Zapier will show you a list of sample data - you can enter this sample data in the Trigger Zap Settings dialog. The sample data is comma separated, so if you enter “Hamburg,Berlin” you’ll find two samples in Zapier.

If you choose “Binary” for the variable type, you can also enter the variable names for the filename and mime-type. E.g. if you have “pdf.file” as a binary, please also enter “pdf.filename” and “pdf.mimeType” as strings. The Trigger Zap block takes these three values to form a valid url for sending to Zapier. If you want to provide a file as sample data, you may enter an URL referring to that file.

Over at Zapier start creating a new Zap and choose the newest Ultradox Trigger.

“Trigger Zap” is the only choice, so “Save + Continue”

Connect your Zap with your Ultradox flow by entering your API Key in the connection dialog.

The connection is created with the name of the Ultradox flow, in this example “Add Customer Flow”. Choose “Save + Continue”.

Next you’ll be prompted for the trigger block of the Ultradox flow. Click on the dropdown and choose your block. There may be only one block, simply choose it. If you have more Trigger Zap blocks inside a flow, you’ll have to choose the one related to this Zap.

After clicking Continue, you’re asked to Pull in Samples. It will present you the data entered in the Trigger Zap Settings dialog.

After clicking Continue, you’ll be asked to choose an Action App. Select the App you want to be triggered, e.g. Salesforce, Mailchimp, Trello or else. Later while configuring the template of your Action App, you’ll see the sample data.
